Mitchell Community Schools offers various levels of programming for gifted students. At Burris Elementary there is a pull-out program that meets once a week with Mrs. Murphy the GT teacher. Students concentrate on research, technology, and problem solving skills during this class.
Students are identified for the GT classes by examining standardized test scores, class grades, parent recommendations, and teacher recommendations.
